Where It All Started

Katrina began her career as a humble Beauty Therapy apprentice at Urban Spa, quickly becoming a trusted Skin Therapist, then manager, and eventually regional manager. But it wasn’t long before her natural ability to educate and inspire found a bigger stage. She began teaching with the AABT before landing a coveted role as a national Educator with Dermalogica and the International Dermal Institute. It was her presence, poise, and unmistakable spark on the mic that caught the eye of Emma Hobson, and the rest, as they say, is history.

From TAFEs in far-flung corners of Western Australia to high-end spa networks in major cities, Katrina spent nearly six years travelling the country, delivering skin science and practical techniques with substance and helping shape the next generation of beauty professionals. Her work crossed education, brand marketing, platform presenting hosting Expo’s and event, sales, and business development. Planting the seeds of the dynamic, cross-functional operator she would become.

The Backbone of Her Craft

Katrina’s next chapter began at Wella, where she truly sunk her teeth in corporate strategy, professional sales, and salon business education. Under the guidance of industry greats like Jane Ordon, Nadene Heapy, and Belinda Jacklin, Katrina sharpened her commercial acumen and fell in love with the rhythm of business. For eight years, she walked in and out of salons across NSW, from Sydney to Gunnedah, supporting some of the country’s most elite hair professionals.

Whether she was coaching on business basics, mentoring salon teams, or jumping in for a basin wash, Katrina embedded herself in the industry in a way few ever do. She didn’t just support businesses, she became a trusted partner in their growth. This era forged her reputation as someone who knows the game from the inside out.

The Heart of Her Work

Katrina’s path has never been linear, but it’s always been driven. Alongside her corporate career, she followed her passions wherever they pulled her. She worked as a Spa Host and Skin Therapist aboard luxury cruise ships in the Caribbean and Mediterranean, before returning home to unleash her entrepreneurial spirit running her own café and food truck. It was a pursuit sparked by a lifelong itch to follow in her parents’ footsteps, having grown up thriving in their businesses and learning the fundamentals of service and strategy from a young age.

While on maternity leave, she became a certified yoga teacher, mastering the art of holding space. She also earned her credentials as an Australian Authorised Marriage Celebrant, refining her ability to speak on behalf of and represent others, meaningfully.

These weren’t side notes; they were a rich education, in motion. Yoga deepened her sense of connection to people. Celebrancy strengthened her presence and purpose. Both supported her learning to hold space. Hospitality sharpened her instincts as a business operator, balancing profit, people, and heart.

Each venture added new dimension to her craft, shaping how she now shows up in every boardroom, classroom, and on every stage.

The Juicy Experience

Most recently, for the past 5 years Katrina leads business development and partnerships for one of Australia’s multi-brand Hair and Beauty retailers. In this role, she works hand-in-hand with nearly every major global and local beauty names, from Estée Lauder Companies to L’Oréal Groupe, Dermalogica, Wella, and Natalie Anne. Building joint strategies, launching products, and elevating brands across omni-channel platforms.

She’s helped indie brands break into market. She’s refined brand identities and carved out category leaders. She’s not just across trends, she helps set them. With one foot in the brand world, the other in retail, and her constant connection to the salon professional through her network, Katrina is the ultimate translator between vision and execution in her industry.

What’s Next?

A mic in her hand has been a constant throughout Katrina’s career, whether educating a room of hairdressers or therapists, hosting a brand event, hosting a panel or live shopping or standing beside a couple on their wedding day. Now, she’s ready to double down.

Katrina’s next chapter is about sharing her voice, amplifying others, and helping brands land their message with power, precision, and purpose. Her mission? To elevate the hair and beauty industry from the inside out—one keynote, one conversation, and one connection at a time.
