Who’s been to a few expo’s in their time? Then you’ve probably rolled your eyes a few times on your way in, or thought to yourself gahhh not another expo. A few years ago I did think I had hit my quota of expo’s and I took a little break for a few years… from the bright lights, the noise pollution from stage to stage and the general over stimulation. BUT…. Well well well…. 

Can I just say…. not in 2025 I was so bloody impressed by this years expo, and honestly just the overall atmosphere that was created. It had a meaningful and intentional feel about it, a quiet calm chaos, with purpose. 

Less noise, more resonance ~ For the professionals who live and breathe beauty. No one has time for lengthy blogs these days, so let’s cut to the chase. If you missed the event and need the catch-up, here’s my highlight reel in notes. 

1. Elevated Atmosphere It felt elevated, intentionally curated. Gone were rows of wax strips and impulse buys, replaced by panels, conversations, and real discussions that added depth and clarity to the experience and put forward-first the arena’s of our industry that drive innovation, change and growth. 

2. Conference Over Chaos Panels swapped presentation fluff for real talk. With headsets and conveniently located conference rooms so you weren’t dashing up and down the entire ICC, it wasn’t an endurance test of steps just concentrated immersion. Industry experts shared front-of-mind topics, including perimenopausal skin, K‑Beauty’s global influence, Dermal Wellness, gut-skin science and elevating your Clinic business. 

3. Clinical, Not Commercial The floor leaned into what’s pushing beauty forward, Medi‑Spa & Skin-Tech and Cosmeceutical-grade Skincare. Brands like Murad (yes yes my favourite of course I’m going to run to their stand and mention them teehee) O Cosmedics and Professional Beauty Solutions who put substance over spectacle. 

4. Ingredient Watch! Trending, on the rise or still very much in the Spotlight What’s on the ingredient radar in 2025? Several stood out: 

• Tomato extract: rising as a brightening antioxidant hero, particularly when upcycled from food waste.

• Kakadu plum: Australia’s next-level vitamin C powerhouse, making waves with its skin-brightening, antioxidant-rich credentials.

• Niacinamide & Vitamin C: still the multitasking essentials you trust.

• Biotech actives & exosomes: next-gen science-backed ingredients redefining efficacy and sustainability in formulations.
